Hi I’m Bob Ogden II
That’s me, the cute one in the middle.   I’m almost 18 and have Spastic Cerebral Palsy.   The long and short of it is …. I’m stuck inside this body that doesn’t work.   My body involuntarily jumps and won’t move when I need it to.   I can’t speak, but what I can do is use my right foot to tap out what I want to say on my Pathfinder computer keypad and it speaks for me.   Luckily I have a great sense of humor!!!

This is what it’s like for Mom to take me anywhere.

  1. Take me out of my wheelchair. (I can move my feet enough to walk a few steps to the car). Then we try to get my body into the car.  It’s hard to get me from a standing position to a seated position and I invariably bonk my head a couple of times during the process, and sometimes my body spasms and my head hits Mom in the nose.
  2. Remove my Pathfinder computer touch pad from the bar on my wheelchair and put it in my backpack.
  3. Load my backpack into the trunk
  4. Remove the Pathfinder bar and load it into the trunk.
  5. Remove the back and neck supports and load them into the trunk.
  6. Remove my special seat and load it into the trunk
  7. Remove my footrest and load it into the trunk
  8. Fold my wheelchair in half and ---- NOW TRY TO FIND ROOM IN THE TRUNK FOR THIS!!!!

If you think that’s bad, she does the same thing in reverse to get me back into working order again!

I need a wheelchair adapted van, and this is where you can invest in my future through a donation and watch as the thermometer rises to meet my goal of $60,000.00 to get the adapted van.

Thank you,
Bob
