Volunteers
ZETA21 International Learning Foundation was established in 2001 to develop non-traditional leaders. In 2007 we established Arizona Magic of Music & Dance as one of the programs to further that goal.
Arizona Magic of Music & Dance provides unique, week-long, camps that in just one week prepare Special Needs children and young adults to stage a wonderful theater production written and choreographed especially for them. Each of the Special Needs Actors is assigned a youth volunteer "Buddy" who spends the week with them to help them with fun, creative projects; helps them with their lines and costumes to prepare them for the production and joins them on stage as their shadow if needed. In addition to providing the opportunity for our special needs actors to have fun, develop their self-confidence and have the opportunity to shine, the camps offer youth volunteers the opportunity to serve through their participation. Buddies receive end-of-the-day mini leadership seminars. These seminars are lead by professional trainers to allow the youth volunteers to expand their experience with training that covers servant leadership, teamwork, networking, ethics and service
Arizona Magic of Music & Dance's mission is to develop theater and arts opportunities for children and youth with physical and mental disabilities. For the actors it is an opportunity to have fun, build their self-confidence, create a network of friends and absolutely "shine" on stage for their family and friends. For the Buddies it is an opportunity too develop their compassion and Servant Leadership skills, to practice teamwork and develop a network of friends and mentors. Adult volunteers also have the opportunity to serve and grow by applying their experience, skills, coaching and mentoring to create something beautiful.
